Both, Brushed Chrome Finish. Optional available finishes also available in a OIL Rubbed Brass and the Bright Polished Brass Finish; these are available on a limited basis.
1. Active Side, This is the panel that actually operates—the one you slide open and closed. What it does - Moves along the track. Contains the main locking mechanism (mortise lock, hook lock, etc.). Accepts a full handle set: inside lever + outside pull + latch/lock hardware. Think of it as: The “working” door panel.
2. Inactive Side With a Thumbturn, This is the fixed or stationary panel, but it still has a functional lock component. What it does - Does not slide. Has a thumbturn on the inside that operates a flush bolt or auxiliary lock. The thumbturn usually throws a bolt into the head jamb or sill to secure the stationary panel. Why it exists - Even though the panel doesn’t move, it still needs to be locked in place so the active panel can latch securely against it. Hardware style, often looks like a handle set, but the “handle” doesn’t operate anything and the thumbturn is the only functional part.
