What is meant by cladding?
Some series of the Biltbest windows have wood sash frames that are covered on the exterior with a roll-formed aluminum clad ( a layer of aluminum ) .. this cladding was a definite upgrade back in the day .. so many homes were built using the "wood only" sashes .. this cladding provides additional protection for the window frame by strengthening its resistance to outside weather such as hail an pre-mature wear and tear, finish and paint degredation etc.
All old Biltbest window sashes can be easily retro-fitted with aluminum clad in sandstone, white or bronze aluminum clad .. saving much maintenance on re-painting etc. as aluminum clad has greater strength and resistance to dents, fading, chaulking. and no paint peeling from sun exposure.
